*Takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly...*

Okay folks, here we go.

Now then, trying to keep calm here, not fly off into the deep end or commit to anything, but maybe, just maybe, we have found It, have found The One. Indeed, this place just blew everything else seen up till then clear out of the water...and the running.

It really is too soon to commit though, so many, many things need thinking and talking about between Emile and myself. Inquiries made, requests from friends to do some psychic readings for us, but...oh my, I AM IN LOVE!!! And so, I believe, is Emile.

Emile and I know in our heart what we want, only the question we need as ourselves is can we? Because, though the place meets damn near everything that we could have dreamed about (not the goodies like hot tubs and saunas, but the real stuff, things like the land and a place which lasts,) the building is very, very old and requires some work. A hell of a lot of it...no, more, a dump-truck's hold of shit's worth, possibly structural, definitely well beyond cosmetic in some places (such as ceilings and walls must come down, no insulation, old wiring in parts of it and issues with the heating system [in the half of the building where it even exists] since they’ve two separate types of heating exhausting through the same flume which is an inspector’s “no-no”; a 12 inch wide floorboard hanging straight down with gap large enough for a child to slip through and land downstairs...) and windows? The house is absolutely covered in the old wooden 12 over 12 panes of glass. (Drafty and COLD!) So all-in-all, we need to seriously sit and think if it is beyond us financially.

(And yet...)

As we were driving home tired, I said to Emile “This place could be a dream once beyond the nightmare.” He laughed loudly at that, saying I had captured the thing exactly: A dream once beyond the nightmare.

And since we’re talking nightmares, yes, this is the place I dreamed about Saturday night. (See previous post.) Haunted like bloody hell, (though some of them I feel are just recordings, not actual conscious entities) and yet even “Buster” as I shall call him, the one I had that little run in was layed back and passive as we walked into His room. Whew (if) we go back for another look, I would like to borrow someone’s digital recorder and do some EVPs, do some talking, lay the situation down as well as ask him some questions. Buster really loathes the wife of the couple selling the place and she’s the one pissed him off. Emile got impressions of her/that situation strongly, though he was not so open and trying to focus on the physical aspects of the place.

The other fellow, whom I am going to nickname “Kip” is different sort entire. He was sitting in a chair in the large room by a table, wearing an old stockingcap and smoking his longstem pipe, reliving fine memories and grinning. I like him a lot, and have to say I felt very comfortable, an old familiarity with a place chock full of ghosts bringing back some fine memories and feeling of my own. All through childhood I had some truly wonderful ghosts about me, playing and protecting. And a pipe smoker! Man, I am just itching to kick back and hang with that dude awhile.

Kip is there because back in the day the place was a tavern/boarding house. It was his favorite hangout, so that’s where he decided to stay. Possibly buster died in his room, not certain, yet as I type this I get an image, one which could just be the creation of an fanciful mind, yet I got an image of hanging. Ugh, I hate when they hang themselves...or are murdered; strangled. Like I said, need to go back and talk with the fellow.

Funny note and poor Emile, yup, he got it again! See, these folks have a horse, and after leaving the stall (nice horse, but depressed because his partner is gone. Everyone else he just sort of stuck his nose out and sniffed, but when it came to me he lipped and lightly tried to nibble on my knuckles. Think he picked up on the sweetness of the C-note cigar I had been puffing on a short while earlier.) Emile wanted to head over and look at the portion of the river running through the property and took a step onto what looked like a leaf-covered boulder.

Turns out it was the spot where they piled the stall’s leavings. Yep, sure made up for missing that dog’s “land mine” at another house we had looked at last week, and how!

We were talking about that “little” incident last night and I go, “Well at least it wasn’t...” and I raised my hands in shout and bent my knees, like someone sinking to their neck. He just looks at me seriously and said “It almost was. Felt exactly like quicksand.”

Lets see, I think that about covers it for the moment because I’m still wiped out here, yet having all these great feelings and impressions about the place, I will say that we saw it in possibly the worst situation that one could, meaning it was nasty weather, drizzle alternating with rain, and it still captured us, from the small, old apple orchard held in a bend of the river next to a fishing hole and all the rest of it.

Does the place have character though? Oh, gods, beyond belief once you get past the ugly. Heck, I think the front door came off a barn or something, 5 feet by seven maybe (tired impression, not exactly measured) and the woodwork? Chestnut wood banister and...

Well, enough. Final note, the place is laid out to perfection for places for both Emile and myself. Got my room already picked out...and the views out of every single window no matter where you are in the place? My gods, rising, tree covered mountains on one side, overviews of what would make a wondrous garden on another; views of the orchard and river...and the sounds of that river (what I consider more a brook, but who’s picking nits?) are ALL YOU HEAR. Paved road, yet only used by residents, of which there are few and spaced far between except one place which overlooks us.

Us. Oops, can’t say that yet. Crap. Yet even the timing of this “discovery” comes exactly like “promised”: end of October, and we went to see it during the first week of November...

Well, like I said, lots and lots to sit down and contemplate very seriously, and driving home, thinking of all that work I started to cry when I said “We should pass it by.”

Today is a new day though, so we shall see.

Time to start the day.

Later folks,

Melissa

UPDATE NOV 8 2007

Just adding a note received via email from one of our old, long known and trusted friends (psychic) of Emile’s.

This could really be your home. However, there's a big qualifier here & you MUST deal with it. The house needs someone like you two to live there & really lay down the law & bring some high powered spiritual cleaning in. This house is going to require a major commitment, a major one: Painting, fixing-up, re-doing, all that sort of thing is going to have to be done. If you don't do it, the house will take you over and you'll be another in a long line of weaker souls who have lived there. This will take some money & outside help. I see 5 or 6 people all working on the house, one or two you'll bring in, the rest local. You must rule this project with an iron fist, don't forget that. ...

Which basically sums up what we knew already.

Anyone else out there getting “impressions” which we could use?

Thanks and cheers,

~M~

Melissa, it sounds to me like you have, indeed, found THE ONE. You write as if you and Emile have already signed the papers and started moving stuff in. You sound happy, my friend...

I'm concerned about the amount of work that's going to have to go into the place, though. From what you've described, it sounds like the house is just about ready to fall down in places, and fixing that is going to be very, very expensive. I guess the question you and Emile will have to answer is, Is it worth the investment? If you feel like it is, then all that you need will be provided. Because that's how the universe works.

I love the idea of sharing space with ghostly tenants! I think it's so great that there's at least one who's a pipe-smoker; that could be so cool for you.

Have a happy Hump Day, my sweet friend.

Hi, sweetie; thanks for your comment. Yes, I have heard of that. What gets me, though, is how it's never happened before this year, and yet, I've know for a long time what my Totem animals are... : uts finger on chin in thought::

Sorry to take so long in replying - very weird things are happening with my internet connection, right now...
