Keep slugging...

Well, despite feeling like a sack of hammered shit today (crappy weather, damn, cold, drizzly...goes right for the old bones...) I'm going to try to do some positive stuff. Am going to be in the store alone since Emile has a short reading gig in town and if there's time I plan on using the store PC to do some scanning of stuff. Some old artwork, photos of me in better times, a promised piece of art to a friend (LWM) get them posted on my personal website http://www.mjvivigatz.com No promise, only, if time allows, I’m going to try.

Also just emailed our VT house hunter. Something has come onto the market, folks, something that has my breath catch, a longing in the weary heart. No, we don't know if this one (or one of the other 5 places we want to peruse) is "the one" only...I feel a tremor of excitement. More like desperation at this point, still, the heart beats faster. Well, we shall see.

Till later then, am really not doing very well today, but what else is new? *chuckles*

Setting up the holiday show...

All the pretty crap.

Okay, catch you later, peeps,

Melissa

Break time!

Yep, Emile is back so it's time for me to kick back for a couple with my feet up...even better, my package of goodies arrived so the pipe is fired up (a basket one) with a good bowlful of HoW Field & Stream...mmm...the mind is taken away in memory of autumn hikes and, for a brief moment, life is good.

I did get a chance to mess around with the scanner and got a few new picts (or some old ones if you've been reading this blog) up on my site. I think Emile has packed up all his old negs, so the "artistic" ones are going to have to wait. Bummer.

Anyhows, here's a couple ones of me from my old albums just for fun:

Oh, me was so tiny!

Yet alas, we must all grow up...

Back in the early days of the shop I had a line of pagan cards. Here's an example of one of them, called "Magick Shelves"

This one was just a dragon I did called "Swirls". Details were my thing and I had a blast penning in each little scale...nor is this a decent example of some of my really intricate stuff. Still, I like it. BTW, my friend "R", being ex-Navy had a thing for tattoos. He was going to have this one done on his arm, but it didn't work out. Bad timing. Ah well.

One of my early gifs...I really want to get back into making these things soon.

Yep, I made this one as well.

All for now, catch you later folks,

M.

Melissa, I'm so sorry you haven't been feeling very well. I know how weather changes can be a right royal pain (literally, as well as figuratively). Gentle to you, dear friend.

I love your pictures! The one of you in the sand... Do you realize you look quite similar to actress Jamie Gaertz? I about fell off my chair when I saw that picture. You're a sure wringer for her in that photo...

You really are an amazing artist, Melissa; I love that "Swirls" picture - then again, I am obsessed with dragons, so pretty much any dragon picture makes me swoon. Dragons, and wolves. Ohhhhhhhh the wolves.... Did I tell you I'm getting a tattoo of a wolf? Oooo - I'll have to write about that, I guess.

Get some rest, dear lady. You still have a lot of work to do...

Thanks, Holly.

Oh yes, please write about your tattoo plans! I love wolves as well! Have been thinking of one by a moon, myself. Actually have a variety of ones (tats) imagined in my head for “one day”. Twinning vines, possibly a tiger because I’ve had many dreams where I become one; an urpight, walking one. Usually I enter a river, and once the ocean, and emerged as a tiger...

I oft spoke with my friend R about having some sort of wings done on my back. Not cheesy angelic ones, thank you very much, but something of my own creation. All these things would be woven together in a living tapestry of Me, right side of chest and then over the shoulder and down, or across, the back. Well, plans for the future at any rate.

Have not heard of the actress, or at least so far as I am terrible with name. Will look that one up, cheers.

Have a happy one, my friend,
Melissa

Hi Melissa,
Thank you for your kind words in my journal. It's odd, but I wrote that post right before I checked in on Rose Myst's journal. After I read the very sad news I ended up having to practice a little of what I preached; easier said than done.

I love your artwork...dragons have always been one of my favorite creatures. Magick Shelves is absolutely charming and reminds me of a fascinating New Age/Pagan shop that I love to visit in a town near ours. I hope you're starting to feel a bit better. Have a good and restful evening.

Elizabeth, you are welcome, and I meant those words. You do inspire.

Our friend Rose Myst...all I can say of her is what a damn shame, what a loss! As well as that post of yours made at that time...who knows? A soul like hers, wouldn't surprise me the timing of it. Feelings do "cross over" after all.

Practicing what we preach...or better to say, attempt to Teach. Ah yes, that is quite the thing, is it not? It is hard not to become saddened by fact that I have had so many opportunities in this life to practice. Sometimes I wonder if I am “getting it”...or have simply become numbed. The line is most thin...

Thank you for your kinds words about my artwork. I’ve so much more to share and anticipate the opportunity to do that within the next coming months/year.

Cheers and blessings,
Melissa

Hey there beautiful... Had a great weekend... Shit hit the fan with me and Insa... he can be SUCH A RIGHTOUS BITCH sometimes and he finally got on my last gay nerve... So, I think we FINALLY reached a breaking point... He has had all these crappy relationships and I guess was venting his misplaced anger against these other dudes... I just can't take responsiobility for other idiots and let's face it, we have all been dissed... after tossing him out, I let him sweat for 2 days and then when I didn't call him, he realized he'd blown it and came back like a puppy with his tail between his legs... I really love this man... BUT.. LEAVE YOUR FREAKIN' BAGGAE AT HOME... want a realtionship with? Dump the chip.. I got no time... An after we talked [gawd for about 8 hours) he realized I was serious... and things have been much different since then... I know I scared him but sometimes an attitude adjustment is required.... MEN! oh thanks for asking about my nephew... He has been ill lately as he was a heart transplant reciepient at the age of 11 days (atthe time he was the worlds youngest heart transplat patient) so he partyied just a bit too hard this summer and is now paying for it... He had to move back home so my bitch sister could "take care of him"... AS IF! he came again about 3 wekks later and i think the boy is havong SERIOUS issues with his sexuality...Hmmmmm... what's that like???? He a great guy.. only person in my family who treats me with respect... The palce you said you looked at to live sounds like it would be perfect for you... paradise...LOL sorry to hear you haveta "dewitchify" your surroundings and go "Pento" ...EEEEEKKKK!!! It burns! It BURNS! What we do to keep from getting lynched... Hey, I would walk around wearing a dead animal [leather gear] everyday if I thought I could get away with it....OK cutie, I gotta fly... I got a message or two from a lovely young lady from Calgary named Holly... You know her...she has a cool site....
