Sleeping on the couch...

  • Mood - Activity:

Well folks, the way Emile and I have been working, hustling and pushing way past the limits it was only a matter of time till one of us came down with something.

Yep, my poor “other half” really got whammed yesterday, sore throat in the morning and by evening, no matter all the garlic and Echinacea and rest of the goods he was in utter misery by evening. Thus, in an effort to keep me from coming down with anything as well, I got to sleep in my art room. Okay, so it ain’t a couch, per-say, got myself a single mattress futon bed in here--now don’t get any ideas. Was more a matter of not having a place anywhere else for the thing, and it is a super place to crash in the afternoon sun or stretch out with my laptop actually on my lap.

Still, took me some while to pull up the sleeves and try to find the damn thing. My old friends know that things are kind of unsettled here at the moment and have begun the process of movie. Thus, my bed was covered in crap. Old paperwork, art supplies (which for me can be absolutely ANYTHING. Found stuff a lot of time, shells, bits of metal, pine cones, hunks of bark, feathers and a lovely bag of copper wire. Ooo, I LOVE shiny wire! Hehe. ) Not to mention a couple boxes of books I am packing up and some cow skulls, to mention just a few things. Oh yeah, there was also an axe. A replica fighting one. *Shrugs*

So my problem was where to put all this stuff? Mainly it was the skulls I was concerned about. The Fire one already fell off my art table. (An angled thing [table] situated HANGING over your head when you lie down.) Now, that Fire Skull has a mean attitude and knowing the history and fact it has teeth and one horn remaining, I wasn’t about to lie in sombulant helplessness beneath that sucker.

Uh-un. So the Butterfly Skull got that honor and...holy crap, just glancing over now I see the 9 inch end-point of a water buffalo horn hanging off the edge. Whew, looks like I survived another, hehe.

Alrighty, bed is cleared and the piles around have increased. Yep, nobody go breathing too hard around here today, whew!

Next factor: blankets. Hum. Well, Miss Jinx was well situated in her...ahem, my chair, but this is a matter of survival, right? Right. So I start yanking and at first there is this look of, “Huh? What the...” and then as the blankets are removed the cat looks up slowly, eyes narrowing and going, “You have made an enemy this night. Such will be remembered a long, long time...”

"Return my blanket or elssse!"

Man, looks like I got to watch out for lightning bolts...LOL!

Anyhows, to make a boring story short, you may have guessed it, but yup, I woke up sick. Throat swollen and cough in my chest, but don’t tell Emile. This here falls under the “need to know” clause, because the store is open today, as well as the house foundation I spent all yesterday preparing needs its patch cement. Evil stuff, says you need gloves and a respirator. Then again, looks like it may rain, so we shall see. Will tell him my cough is from brushing all that powdered crap leftover from power washing the old paint off up, if he manages to get out of bed at all today.

Yep, life goes on.

Be back later, folks.

Cheers,

Melissa
